14 years of clinical experience. A deep belief in evidence. And a genuine conviction that understanding your own brain is the most powerful thing you can do for your mental health.

My Story

I've spent over a decade as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist — working in the NHS, private healthcare, and my own practice. I've worked with people in profound difficulty: those experiencing severe anxiety and depression, people navigating complex trauma, individuals in the prison system rebuilding their lives.

And across all of it, one thing became undeniable: the most powerful tool for lasting change isn't a technique or a diagnosis. It's your brain's own capacity to rewire itself.

Neuroplasticity — the brain's ability to form new connections at any age — is no longer just cutting-edge neuroscience. It's practical, teachable, and with the right approach, genuinely transformational. That understanding shaped everything I do now.

A Psychologist Who Believes
The Brain Can Change

My Background

2011 Qualified as Chartered Counselling Psychologist

Registered with the HCPC and Chartered Member of the BPS. Began clinical work in NHS settings.

2011–19 NHS, Private Healthcare & Specialist Settings

Worked across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Including significant work within the prison service — some of the most complex and rewarding clinical work of my career.

2019 Established Private Practice

Set up my own practice, offering individual therapy for adults, children and young people across a wide range of mental health and emotional difficulties. Based in Telford, Shropshire, with online services nationwide.

2024 Created the REWIRE Neuroplasticity Programme

Developed a six-module, evidence-based programme bringing the science of neuroplasticity into accessible, practical self-guided training. Available to individuals and organisations.

My Approach to Therapy

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic models — choosing what's most appropriate to you, your history, and what you're trying to change.

Trauma-Informed Practice

Understanding how past experience shapes present responses — with safety first.

Schema Therapy

For deeply ingrained patterns that often began in early experience.

Neuroplasticity Training

The REWIRE approach: working with the brain's own capacity for genuine structural change.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

For anxiety, depression, and patterns of thinking that aren't serving you.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Building psychological flexibility and values-based action.

Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Attention training as a direct neuroplasticity tool — evidence-based, not spiritual.

What I Work With

I work with adults (18+), children and young people experiencing a wide range of mental health and emotional difficulties, including: Anxiety and panic · Depression and low mood · Low self-esteem and self-criticism · Grief and loss · Life transitions · Relationship difficulties · Women's health challenges (postnatal depression, perimenopause and menopause) · Trauma and PTSD · Loneliness and social anxiety · Perfectionism · Work-related stress and burnout

Practical Information

Where are you based?

I'm based in Telford, Shropshire and offer face to face appointments from my clinic in Telford Town Centre. I also offer online sessions via secure video platform, which means I can work with clients anywhere in the UK.

The simplest way is to use the contact form or email me directly. I'll respond within 2 working days to arrange a brief initial conversation, after which we can discuss next steps.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on what you're working on. Some people benefit from short-term work (8–16 sessions); others find longer-term support more helpful. We'll discuss this together early on.

Are you HCPC registered?

Yes. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and am a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Registration numbers are available on request.
