1. About These Terms
These terms and conditions apply to your use of the website www.dralexandrabarnett.co.uk and to any services provided by Dr Alexandra Barnett ('I', 'me', 'my'), a Chartered Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
By using this website or engaging my services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
2. Professional Registration
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the HCPC and a Chartered Member of the BPS. My practice is conducted in accordance with the ethical guidelines of both professional bodies. Registration numbers are available on request.
3. Therapy Services
3.1 Who I Work With
I offer individual therapy to adults (18+), children and young people. All therapy is conducted online via secure video platform or face to face in Telford, Shropshire.
3.2 Not a Crisis Service
My services are not suitable for people in a mental health crisis. If you are at risk to yourself or others, please contact the emergency services (999), go to your nearest Accident & Emergency department, or contact the Samaritans (116 123).
3.3 Initial Consultation
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation before you commit to therapy. This is an opportunity to ask questions and determine whether we are a good fit.
3.4 Fees and Payment
My fees are agreed at the outset of therapy and are payable in advance of each session. Fees are subject to annual review. I will give you at least one month's notice of any fee changes.
3.5 Cancellation Policy
I require a minimum of 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full session fee. This policy exists to protect both parties' time.
3.6 Confidentiality
All information shared within therapy is held in the strictest confidence, subject to the following exceptions required by law or professional duty:
-
Where there is a risk of serious harm to you or another person
-
Where disclosure is required by a court of law
-
In clinical supervision (where identifying details are anonymised)
I will discuss confidentiality in full at the start of our work together.
